Julie Carter Mindfell Events

My events and talks are as varied as my publications - from teaching doctors about Human Givens and emotional needs to delivering poetry to an audience of 400 Fellrunners at Kendal Mountain Literature Festival. I am happy to give talks to groups and organisations, and at festivals and gatherings, about any of the subjects I cover in my writing - especially topics to do with wellbeing, emotional needs and our relationships with our bodies and our environments, and of course fellrunning. I am always happy to chat – please get in touch.

Our Film, I AM A FELLRUNNER is shortlisted for the the BMC Women In Adventure competition but the screening at Sheffield Adventure Film Festival is cancelled due to coronavirus.
THE ART OF ADVENTURE  "An evening with the Cumbrian author Julie Carter, who will share some new stories, poems and film, in a discussion about how the creative impulse of a sports person, fell runner and climber melds with other types of creativity. The event will also celebrate the launch of the second edition of her popular book Running the Red Line." Hosted by the New Bookshop Cockermouth http://www.newbookshop.co.uk/ . Delayed at present.

Similar planned events at Keswick Mountain Festival and Siabod cafe in Snowdonia  are similarly on hold.

THE MEDICINE OF POETRY "The Cumbrian writer Julie Carter is a former doctor who has some powerful medicine to dispense. You need no previous interest in poetry to feel the healing power of words. Join Julie for the sharing of her poems and stories and perhaps even gain the inspiration to write your own." Saturday 13th June at the Feelgood Festival. https://feelgoodfest.co.uk/
